Seeking Lifeguards

The South Park Recreation Center is currently seeking part time lifeguards. Must be at least 15 years old, be able to swim 300 yards, tread water for 5 minutes, and retrieve a 10lb brick from the bottom of the pool and swim it to the other end.  American Red Cross Lifeguard Training, CPR-PR, AED, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen Delivery certifications are preferred.  If not certified training will be provided.  For more information contact the rec center at 719.836.0747 and ask for Saam Golgoon.  Click here to download an application.

Third Annual Tri-It-Young
ATriathlon for Kids
Saturday, September 13 

A Triathlon for kids ages 3-10 years of age.  Three age groups:
3-5: Obstacle course, cycle twice around the parking lot, and swim one lap of beach entry pool.
6-7: Swim two lengths of lap pool, cycle half mile, run quarter mile.
8-10:  Swim four lengths of lap pool, run half mile, cycle one mile.
Registrations begin at 9:00 am at the rec center and the race starts at 10:00am.  $6 for members and $9 for non-members.  All participants will receive a complimentary t-shirt, lunch, and participation medal.  For more information or to register ahead of time contact the rec center at 719.836.0747.

Fall 2008 Swim Lessons

Spirit of Dance

Classes begin September 8th. For more information regarding all classes visit www.thespiritofdance.net.

Therapeutic Massage

Karleen Dyc (CMT) will be providing therapeutic massage on Monday's and Saturday's and by special appointment at South Park Recreation Center. The cost is $45 for an hour, $23 for 1/2 an hour and $65 for 90 minutes. Group rates are also available.
