Mountaineers Basketball Coach

South Park Recreation Center is seeking a highly motivated and experienced youth basketball coach to foster a positive and competitive environment where athletes can develop their skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. Mountaineers is a recreational basketball program for kids in grades 1st-5th.
This position is part time and will be roughly mid January to late February. The right candidate lives, works and plays in the community and surrounding areas we serve.
Job Description:
- Lead and oversee all aspects of the basketball program, including practices and games
- Develop and implement effective coaching strategies and techniques to enhance player performance and cohesion
- Provide mentorship and guidance to student-athletes both on and off the court, promoting academic success, character development and leadership skills
- Collaborate with other coaches and staff members to ensure the overall success and integrity of the athletic program
- Foster a culture of respect, discipline and sportsmanship among players, coaches and supporters
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies and rules
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate athletes
- Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents and community members
- Ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certificate before the season starts
- Ability to obtain Mandatory Reporter and HeadsUp concussion certificates before the season starts
- Pass a Colorado background check
Hourly Range and Benefits:
- Hourly based pay
- Free Rec Center pass for the duration of the football season
