The South Park Recreation Center is owned and operated by the South Park Parks and Recreation District (a Colorado Special District). It is staffed by a full-time Executive Director and a full-time Assistant Director who oversee the daily operations of the district and manage the part-time staff: head lifeguard, instructors, lifeguards and front desk staff. Our Board of Directors is responsible for setting policy for the overall operations of the rec center and oversee the operations of the district through the Executive Director. The South Park Rec Foundation, is an I.R.S. Sec. 501(c)(3) organization, and is responsible for fundraising and grant writing for the district.
The South Park – Parks and Recreation District Board of Directors will normally meet on the fourth Tuesday of each month, at 6:00pm at the Rec Center (1190 Bullet Road, Fairplay). All meetings are open to the public with the exception of executive sessions during public meetings.
South Park Recreation Center is fully committed to providing accessible facilities, elements and
channels of communication to all members of the public. As part of this commitment, South Park Recreation Center
has a policy of providing an accessible website compatible with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1) and
commercial screen reading software. All features of the website are coded to allow individuals with vision and
other impairments to understand and use the website to the same degree as someone without disabilities. We welcome
feedback and can often resolve issues in a timely manner if they arise.
