How long have you lived in the district (South Park Parks and Recreation District)?

I have lived in South Park for five years.

What is your occupation?

I retired last year after 31 years as a Special Education teacher. Most recently I worked four years in Fairplay schools after teaching in rural Wisconsin, Little Rock, Westminster, and Commerce City.

Over the years I had several additional jobs including tour guide, waitress, bartender, cleaning person, retail, job training for adults with disabilities, work services coordinator for a bulk mailing
facility, special education teacher coach/mentor, literacy coach and district trainer, and most importantly a mom to two amazing daughters.

Currently I work as an independent Health and Wellness Coach and a part-time ski instructor at Breckenridge. I also am serving on the South Park Education Foundation board.

How often do you use the South Park Rec Center?

I generally use the facility 2-4 times per week.

What is your vision for the South Park Parks and Recreation District and the South Park Recreation Center?

My vision includes being able to maintain and grow the quality staff, resources, equipment, and program offerings at the center. I would hope to expand patron use so more folks can discover
and use this gem in the community to enhance their health and wellness while building ties to other community members.

Why do you want to be a Board Member and what do you feel you can bring to the district?

I have a deep appreciation for and commitment to the sense of community, recreation opportunities, health and wellness, fitness and education, the environment, and building relationships. Mine has been a life of service and I would like to continue on that path while fulfilling the responsibilities of the position to the best of my ability

Why are you the best candidate for this office?

I have wide life experience, am retired so I have time and desire to be of service to the community, am open minded, creative, analytical, friendly, think outside the box, and value the needs and
opinions of others. The Recreation Center is quite an asset to Fairplay and the surrounding area. It would be my honor to support the present options and future growth to meet the ever changing
needs of current and would-be patrons. I am an advocate for health and wellness and am so thankful we have the South Park Recreation Center at our disposal!
